Cllr Margaret Greer has made history as the newly elected Mayor of Enfield, becoming the first Black Caribbean Heritage woman to hold this esteemed position. The inauguration ceremony, held earlier this week, marked a significant milestone for the borough and its diverse community, reflecting the progress towards greater representation and inclusion.

The celebration was a night to remember, filled with heartfelt moments and inspiring reflections. Family, friends, fellow councillors, dignitaries, and supportive neighbours gathered to mark this momentous occasion, demonstrating the strength and unity that underpins the Enfield community.
Reflecting on the event, Mayor Greer expressed her appreciation, saying, “I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined me on this incredible night of celebration. Your presence meant the world to me and served as a powerful reminder of the strength of our community. It is the warmth and support of family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours that will fuel my work in this role.

She continued, “I am deeply honoured to serve as your Mayor and remain committed to being a voice for positive change, a champion for inclusion, and a tireless advocate for every resident of Enfield. Together, we can create a brighter, more connected future.”
With this historic appointment, Mayor Greer aims to inspire a new generation of leaders, encouraging them to break barriers and pursue their passions with confidence.
Congratulations, Mayor Greer, on this remarkable achievement.
